São
Paulo is a set of field notes, drawn from a brief experience in the
city that lends its name to this work.
With over 12 million inhabitants, and nearly twice when its metropolitan area is included, São Paulo stands out as the most populated metropolis in the southern hemisphere of the Americas. As the largest urban economy in Latin America, it serves as a point of convergence for surrounding communities, drawn by the search for work and for access to goods and infrastructures that promise better prospects for the future.
These images are the result of random walks through the center of São Paulo - paths guided by instinct, in which the city gradually reveals itself through successive glimpses. A space crossed, where the ephemerality of gestures, faces, and buildings leaves possibilities suspended.
From these encounters, where bodies, chance, and desire inscribe themselves onto the landscape, images emerge that belong to the realm of the fleeting and the provisional. A dialogue between European flânerie and the pulse of a great metropolis across the Atlantic.
